Any recommendations on an iOS dev shop?

I would love recommendations from the network on any iOS dev shops or independent programmers (primarily in NYC) who could help me create an app MVP I want to develop. Outside of typical app functionality I envision special capabilities in streaming audio as well as the creation of a dashboard.

Any recommendations appreciated!

Michael,
I am with Fingent and we do a lot of iOS development work with startups.

Our dev team is based in India in 2 development centers. We've been around for 10 years. Our goal is to grow with you. With about 200 employees, we are big enough to have the talent in areas you need, but small enough to offer personalized service.

Hi Michael,
I recommend going to the New York iOS Developers Meetup:

http://www.meetup.com/new-york-ios-developer/

There are a lot of really good developers at these. After the presentations, there is time for announcements which are mostly people announcing that they are looking for help or looking for work.

For an MVP, you probably have a narrow enough scope that you can use a solo developer which will have less overhead than hiring a shop. You'll also have someone you can continue working with full-time when you get funding/validation.

Hi Michael,

I would agree with Robert that going to an iOS meetup is a useful endeavor. That said, if you are looking to truly develop an MVP, we used a shop out of Pakistan that were fantastic. They did ALL the dev work for our app, called Loyoly (you can find us on the app store here: www.loyoly.com/downloadiOSversion if you have an iPhone or iPad). Initially, we had only planned on doing an MVP, but it evolved to a full-scale application. We did it for under $10K, and that included MANY iterations.

There are, of course, issues with working with off-shore vendors. It is great when you can sit next to someone. But, if cost is one of your key variables, then you won't be able to find anyone that comes anywhere close on price in the continental US or Canada.

I can put you in touch with them if you like...just drop me a line ([removed to protect privacy]) and I can put you in touch.

Hey Michael, why not unity and make your MVP iOS and Android comparable? My team works cross platform and has designed, developed and deployed dozens of mobile products. Happy to discuss your needs via [removed to protect privacy]

Hi Michael, my start-up is based in London but we're using a development agency in Warsaw to take advantage of the lower costs and strong softwaredevelopmentexpertise in Eastern Europe. Ping me on LinkedIn if you would like an introduction.

Michael, I'd recommend our agency - Agilie - http://agilie.com. Despite development center is located in Eastern Europe we might offer competitive price and high quality service.
Check out the site and let me know if you will need any assistance. I'd answer with pleasure.

Regards,
Sergey
