Financial projection apps?

I've produced many of these in Excel but I am hoping there is an app this time around - surely =)

I know about ProjectionHub which I don't love as it asks for all sorts of info before it provides pricing. And the UI is clunky which doesn't give me a lot of confidence about the app itself.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Kate, I literally just made a posting regarding funding and projections at the same time you posted this! Congrats to be at this phase.

We had some great help putting together our 5 year projections, in addition I came across this site which looks really awesome and customizable:http://app.funded.io/

An app can back it out quick but take the time to know your numbers inside and out. I've spent a LONG time with ours, looking at and tweaking all the key variables. You almost need to build a picture of it in your brain.

Good luck.

funded.io is my little side project - free to use. Thanks for the plug, John.

I haven't updated it in quite a while because I'm working on an actual (fundable, heh) project.

At some point I'll finish with the next version which will allow much deeper customization of expense and revenue categories.

@John - yes, I have all the key metrics etc. It would just be nice to be able to plug them into an app with drivers built in. It seems prehistoric having to use Excel for this and linking between panes etc. Will look at funded.io and honestly, I would pay a monthly for this that plugged into Xero etc. too where we could compare with hard data.

http://www.cfoscoreboard.com/ This product was envisioned and created by Keith Cunningham. He has a proven track record of effective financial management inside his companies. The tool seems pretty darn awesome.

Great question Kate! I'm looking for this too but even more.
Does anyone know a tool that combines the following, all in one place:

Financial Projections
SOPs
Scorecards for each company division
Goals and critical top 3 numbers for each division
History of all goals and whether they were hit
Quarterly review files for all team members
All training docs
All Job descriptions
A bench of all possible candidates
Growth vs historical
Due Diligence

Basically, everything you need to run your business, all the docs, scorecards, critical numbers (like a 1 page plan), plus the financial stuff, all in one place, in a web app, also accessible by phone?

Bob - that was some of the vision for funded.io - I wanted to eventually have an operational dashboard that would let you plan the yearly model (financial projections, sales projections, COGS, marketing, etc.). Then you would be able to track actuals and compare with projections month over month and make projections.

Basically, manage all the data needed for the board meeting and automate as much as possible.

Chris, that's very interesting. I'll send you a PM. This is something my business really needs.

Love the idea behind funded.io; but it's only BtoB right now. Is there anything for BtoC coming up soon? BON, have you usedhttp://www.cfoscoreboard.com/?

I haven't used it but I have seen it demonstrated and it made me want to try it out once we're at a state where we have volume to justify its purchase.

Alison - yes, B2C modeling was next on the list before my actual job started interfering with time spent on funded.io. The next version is about 70% coded and allowed much more flexibility in cost and revenue categories, including the ability to drive revenue from B2C conversions based on traffic growth (among many other ways to model revenue and expenses).

I may send out a survey to the ~130 people who've created an account to find out if the project is worth pushing further - at some point I'd have to charge for maintaining it - and potentially even turn it into a business. I just don't know what the appetite is or how big the market is.
